Into the Woods

Well, Mama is tired, tired, tired. I do have to say I am amazed with the talent in the Youth Theatre. Every child that is cast is perfect for their role. Each show gets better and better. We still have 4 more shows. Today "critics" were at the show from New York and more will be at the Friday evening performance. Our theatre is nationally recognized! The director, costumer and music director are phenomenal...I actually enjoy their version better than the original Broadway show. I have been ushering, doing hair and makeup or watching. No sewing... boo hoo. I am also working and dealing with the new puppy. I can fall asleep standing up these days.

Here are some snap-shots of my Little Red. We are not allowed to take photos or video tape...Stephen Sondheim sold his soul to the devil. I did sneak a couple pictures at the dress rehearsal.

Just adorable! No video or pics of the performance allowed? Wow - as a parent, I think I'd just cry "mutiny" and start a wave of snapping cameras mid-performance.

When my daughter was in dance, I'd take pictures or video during the dress rehearsals. I have to say that it's a better idea than letting a bunch of people block your view or keep flashing cameras when you are trying to enjoy the show! Besides, when she was actually performing, I wanted to concentrate on her, not the camera.

Your "Little Red" is just adorable, and I bet she was great in her performance. "Into the Woods" is one of my favorites.
