Sing-A-Long

Hello Ladies: this sing a long is to the tune of John Denver's Take me Home Country Roads

Almost Heaven...Denver Fabrics..blue rayon's...silks and ribbons...you get the idea.

I have not really done much sewing with knits and I hit the jackpot with the bargain bin and nabbed up $100.00 worth of knits.

I stopped by a thrift store and scored these vintage patterns and notions. The seam binding came with matching thread at one time!

Maternity? PJ's? no..it's a peasant top

I forced myself to use some stash fabric and I had just enough to make this peasant top. It is identical to a pj top I made for Lauren last Christmas. It fits nice and looks cute on and luckily looks like a peasant top. The fabric is a very stretchy knit with iridescent glitter and blue and aqua stripes. Not bad for a stash fabric.

Sewing Habits

I'm curious about what other seamstresses do to prepare for sewing.
Here are some of my "must haves"

Barefoot (so far I have not stepped on any sharp objects in 18 years)
My long hair tied back off my face
Comfy clothes
Chapstick on hand

Tidy room
NO threads on the floor from previous and current project
Scissors on cutting table, by machines and on ironing board
Only one project out at a time (I had to result to this)

Diet Pepsi
House phone & cell phone handy
Usually absolute quiet or General Hospital is on tv. If my soap is on I use this time to cut patterns out, pinning or Seam Ripping!

By the way, this butterfly was in my flower garden the other day. What is a post without a pic!

Not quite sure

I made this window covering for the sewing room but I'm not quite sure I like how it looks. I think I need to add some fabric to the topper for more fullness. Of course, the ugly window well does not help.

My sewing energy is low these past weeks. I have been exhausted lately. I hear today if another Improv class is going to be cancelled. This will be the sixth class I've attempted to join. I am trying to talk the owner to let me in the advanced class even though I have no experience. I wish...I wish...

Puppy Love

These creatures are so adorable. I love my doggy's very much.

Gardening

My vegetable garden began after being robbed by the grocery store and charged over $2.00 for a tomato! The hike in grocery prices is stealing from my fabric budget. Are you cutting back or growing any food? If I did not have a family to feed I'd live on beans. I'm very much a novice at vegetables, I am frightened by the big gnarly green tomato bugs. yuk. Here is a snap of the front flower garden. Happy Spring blogger friends!
