Pioneer Girl

Miss Lauren headed off to 4th grade camp this morning dressed as a pioneer girl. Her Nana made the bonnet, I made the dress, daddy made the buttonholes and Lauren sewed the buttons on by herself. This was a joint effort because I procrastinated and had a deadline. There was a lot of love put into this costume!

Sewing? What's that?

I've been so busy with Lauren and the production of Meet me In St. Louis that there has been no time to sew. The Musical was awesome and Lauren was absolutely amazing, never stepping out of character and quite the ham.

I'm hoping to start up the sewing machine soon and post some of my creations...maybe. This afternoon Lauren is auditioning for the Dinner Theatre as they are having an open call for The Sound of Music. The production runs through September. AHHHH!

Daddy Daughter Ball

Steve & Lauren headed off for the annual Daddy Daughter Ball this evening. I'm sure they'll have a smashing good time. Paul & I went to the movie theatre to see The Abandoned which was...not so great but it was fun hangin' out with my teenage son.

Sassy McLassy

I decided to enter the Pattern Review Fabric Stash contest...this is what I came up with today. The pattern used is McCall's Sassy Girl(5175)and it was very simple to make. It felt good using up some "old stuff" from the basement. Lauren did not feel like modeling today. P.S. The photo makes it look crooked but it is really not.

Meet Me in St. Louis

Miss Lauren landed the role of Tootie in a local production of Meet me in St. Louis! My little cutie has high aspirations of being a movie star...one never knows. This means rehearsals 4 days a week and hopefully some costume sewing for me.

Lauren's Designs

Miss Lauren is quite the fashion diva. She has her own logo now (lovingly designed by my sister Sue)and makes cute little wristlets and other accessories. She peddles these to her school friends and plans on donating a portion of her proceeds to charity. The directions for these were on a tear-pad at Joann...I have not figured out how to make a feed-link yet otherwise I'd do so.
